Catering Services

Nutrition is the intake of nutrients and other substances necessary for growth, development and health. An adequate and balanced diet is the consumption of foods containing these elements in the amounts determined and recommended by science for the development and protection of health. There is no single food that can replace the others and does not provide all the nutrients the body needs. A one-sided, long-term deficient or excessive diet, or an unhealthy diet not prescribed by a specialist, can have a direct or indirect effect on your health in many ways, from vitamin and mineral deficiencies to irreversible health problems at any stage of your life, and can have a negative impact on your physical and mental health.

The food engineer and dietician employed at the university collaborate to uphold the quality and healthiness of the catering service. Additionally, they offer counseling services to students and staff seeking information on nutrition.

The meals are meticulously prepared in the Karavana central kitchen of the University's Konuralp Campus, adhering strictly to cleanliness and hygiene standards. They are then served in the dining halls situated within the faculties and schools.

The meals are planned by food engineers at the university, who calculate the energy and macronutrients required for one meal to meet the needs of both students and staff. These menus are designed over the course of a year to ensure a balanced nutritional intake that adequately addresses the body's energy requirements.

The kitchen is cleaned after cooking and the dining halls are cleaned after service. The kitchen and dining halls are regularly sprayed every month.

The personnel working in the kitchens and dining halls (cooks, waiters, dishwashers, etc.) have Hygiene Training Certificates.
