A. Activities carried out within the Centre

1. Mushroom Compost and Shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes) Production Studies

Firstly, waste materials (beech sawdust, straw, hazelnut pruning residue, hazelnut slag, paddy husk, coffee) were procured for mushroom compost production. Then, sterilisation and mycelial sowing processes were carried out in accordance with the method of mushroom compost preparation. The prepared mushroom compost materials were placed in the mushroom production laboratory and kept under certain climatic conditions until they hatched. After the mycelial winding process, harvesting was carried out. The harvested mushrooms were dried and packaged.

2. Compost Fertiliser Production Studies

Firstly, hazelnut slags, pruned hazelnut branches, corn stalks, paddy husks and cattle manure, which are agricultural wastes from some villages in Düzce province, and vegetable wastes from Düzce University cafeteria were obtained. These materials were placed in the compost production units in the central garden in certain ratios and then watered and left to wait for fermentation. Periodically, temperature control, mixing and irrigation processes are carried out.

2nd Bilateral Cooperation Visit (22.10.2021)

On 22 October 2021, we were pleased to welcome Hakan ÇETİN, president of Düzce Branch of the Chamber of Agricultural Engineers, who visited us at the Application and Research Center for the Recovery of Agricultural Wastes to Industry (DÜTAGAM).

 

 

 

3rd Bilateral Cooperation Visit (28.10.2021)

On 28.10.2021 at 10.00 on 28.10.2021, Mr. Kenan ALBAYRAK, Director of Parks and Gardens of Düzce Municipality, and Ms. Mücella ÖZTÜRK, Deputy Director, visited our Application and Research Centre for Industrial Recovery of Agricultural Wastes (DÜTAGAM) with the idea of what we can do together within the framework of bilateral cooperation.

Ltd. Şti. Büşra YILMAZYÜRK and Meryem Nur YILDIZ were hosted. At the meeting;
1-To provide certified trainings to both your members and the public on the production of mycelial mushroom compost, medicinal and edible mushrooms, agricultural compost and mulch material, which we produce under the leadership of the participants
2- To make bilateral co-operation on the evaluation of agricultural wastes and income generation in line with zero waste philosophy
3- To explain the idea that all kinds of agricultural wastes can be transformed into value-added products to our people in co-operation
4- To provide project writing trainings to its members on the utilisation of agricultural wastes and to sign various projects together
They discussed the possibilities of bilateral co-operation on issues such as.

 

 

 

5th Bilateral Cooperation Visit (02.11.2021)

On 02.11.2021 at 09.30, Prof Dr Süleyman KORKUT, Director of the Application and Research Center for the Recovery of Agricultural Wastes to Industry (DÜTAGAM), Assoc Prof Dr Zübeyde Filiz ARSLAN and Assoc Prof Dr Çağlar AKÇAY visited Düzce Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Necdet ÇİÇEK in his office and discussed bilateral cooperation opportunities. 

 

 

 

 

6th Bilateral Cooperation Visit (02.11.2021)

On 02.11.2021 at 15:00, Prof Dr Süleyman KORKUT, Director of the Application and Research Center for the Recovery of Agricultural Wastes to Industry (DÜTAGAM), Assoc Prof Dr Zübeyde Filiz ARSLAN and Assoc Prof Dr Çağlar AKÇAY, Deputy Directors of DÜTAGAM, and Düzce Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Necdet ÇİÇEK visited Düzce Municipality Closed Integrated Solid Waste Separation, Processing and Energy Production Plant and met with Envio Enerji Üretim A. Ş. manager Erkan YALÇIN, Düzce Solid Waste Union Manager environmental engineer Emrah GÜLMEZ and Düzce Waste Separation, Processing and Energy Production Facility Responsible civil engineer İzzet ÇINAR about bilateral cooperation.

 

 

 

 

 

7th Training (12.11.2021)

As the Application and Research Centre for the Recovery of Agricultural Wastes to Industry (DÜTAGAM), we provide practical training to undergraduate students of the Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Engineering in order to gain professional competence and self-improvement in the production of medicinal and edible mushrooms.

10. TUBITAK 4004 Project Negotiations with Hayalimiz Kindergarten (30.12.2021)

Prof. Dr. Süleyman KORKUT, director of the Application and Research Centre for Industrial Recovery of Agricultural Wastes (DÜTAGAM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zübeyde Filiz ARSLAN and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çağlar AKÇAY, academic staff of DÜTAGAM, Assoc. Assist. Dr. Faik CEYLAN, Düzce Hayalimiz Kindergarten director Fatma BAKAN, teachers Rahmi BAKAN and Sibel GÖKMENOĞLU discussed about the TÜBİTAK 4004 project. In addition, negotiations were held for future projects and co-operation agreements on composting technique.
